Gangasagar Excursion—A Journey to the Sacred Shore
Start your Sundarban tour package from Kolkata to Gangasagar with a road trip from Kolkata to a place called Lot No. 8, also known as Harwood Point. This is where the adventure begins. From here, you’ll hop on a ferry that sails across the Muriganga River. The ride takes about 45 minutes and brings you to Kachuberia, the gateway to Gangasagar Island.
Once you reach Kachuberia, a private car (like a Tata Sumo or Innova) will take you to the famous Kapil Muni Temple. This temple sits where the mighty River Ganga meets the Bay of Bengal. It’s a place full of spiritual energy and stories from ancient times.
After visiting the temple, your car will take you around the island. You’ll see the Kali Temple, take a holy dip in the sacred waters, and relax on the beach. The sunset here is magical—perfect for clicking pictures and making memories with your family.
By evening, you’ll return to Kolkata, unless you choose to stay overnight at a hotel on Gangasagar Island. The choice is yours.
